I have a 46 chevy pickup and connot find a connection on the transmission for the speedometer cable

Welcome aboard b51r. The speedo hookup will be at the rear of the trans, toward the top of the case on the left side. This cutaway pic swos the approximate location. http://chevy.tocmp.com/1941shop/41csm208.htm
PS this should have really been in the Engine and Driveline column.

Longbox,looked all over the leftside of tranny and no stud for the speedometed cable
