Hello guys of Stovebolt. I just bought a 53 GMC 100. shes tender to say the least but not beyond repair. I've just started tearing the fenders off and seeing what parts I need to replace are. the guy i bought it off from re did the motor and kingpins and front brakes and lines all but the rear cross over and rear brakes so its a start. I'm just doing research into finding patch panels and such. but i'm not finding any for the fender where it bolts to the inner cowl ( which is gone from rust) does any one know if theres a kit or do i need to go old school with sheet metal. Also I am wondering if anyone has any tips on cleaning and repairing the creases around the cab below the rear windows. i'm going to attach some pictures of the cab and fenders
check the links section. Jim Carter , chevys of the 40's and others offer replacement panels to almost completly fab a cab. inner and outer cowl panels are definitely available
I don't think there are patches to fix the fender there. Fenders are available new and used. As stated, the there are panels for the cowl. The problem below the back window is a fairly tough one. I don't have answers for that.
