I am having a weird problem with my rear passenger tail light. When I have the parking lights on the brake light will be on for the right tail light and the turn siginal will not work. When I mess with the two mounting bolts that ground and mount the light to the bracket I get the tail light to work and turn signal...but no brake light...Any ideas?

make sure you don't have the park and brake wires switched compared to the other side, but strange tail light problems are usually ground problems, make sure the ground is really good everywhere, light buckets to the brackets and brackets to the box, and it's worth adding a ground wire from the box to the frame, use lock washers that cut into the paint a bit - use an ohm meter to check from the socket case to the frame

note that the brake light and the turn light both use the brightest element and both go thru the signal switch, if one works the other should as well

Hi Bill,
Got the rear light working had to turn the connection in the socket of the light assy. 180 degrees.
Also got the horn to work....helps to clear the paint off the connections on the steering wheel...duh for me!

Have the truck at a shop right now checking my work. They have found a few things wrong. The king pin and link pins are shot but I had them done last year during the rebuild by NAPA. So I am going to be calling them to ask what happened.
