I used American Autowire on mine. With 22 circuits it was a lengthy process. My suggestion would be to take your time and do a little each day.

Installed the park lamps. Next up, figuring out how to wire in the flasher for the turn signals.

Was working on my "other" truck trying to get the seat springs back on and slipped, gashing two fingers, that sent me to the emergency room thinking that I might need stiches, got it cleaned out and band-aded up, got home and haven't done anything yet until I heal.

Too hot to leave the house. Anyway you would do better alone; too many cooks spoil the broth. Check with Mad Electric for wire connectors. Their butt connectors are great for soldering joints and shrink tubing. Also they have the greatest crimping pliers I have ever used. Get a wire stripper from Home Depot; that will save you a ton of time.

I went out and looked at it, does that count,

Painted the hood and cowl panel on my burb today.

Installed the right running board after sanding, welding, priming, painting and replacing two of the brackets. Also installed a new running board to cab seal. I find it amazing how something which I thought would be simple took so much time! (but it looks good)The left side is next but it's in better shape (i.e.wasn't bashed by any stumps!)

Didn't DO anything on it, but we took it for a ride. Two of the grandkids were here, and they love to take a ride in the big blue truck! So that's what we just got back from doing.

I installed the torque converter lockup kit for the 700r4 trans. I put in the '66. Now I have overdrive!!!

Installed running board to cab seals, door handle seals, wiper arm seals, inside window surrounds, defrost deflector, "3600" badges on the hood, mounted license plate and taillights on a temporary 2x4 since I have no bed (yet).

I'm at the fun part where everything is clean and painted and just needs to be re-assambled. Things are going quickly and it's getting to be more fun. Plus we can drive it around. Took the boy for a ride (he's 2), he loves it.

Treated the engine to some new parts, plug wires,chrome PCV,throttle spring,thermostat,hoses.
Got my radiator and new fan mounted,and finally got the rear end lubed up,it's been dry for the last 4 years!

Mounted new (to me) original 8-lug split rims, tires and caps that I purchased from a fellow Stovebolter. NOW it's starting to look like a real truck!

Finished up the installation of new bed rails.

Got the steering column painted and the bed-wood sanded.

Nothing, since it is running good I have been using it for daily driver and it has been trouble free for about 2 years now.

well with any luck got the last of the patch panels in this morning before the heat of the day, supose to be 100 + so started a 6 and finished up around 11, not to bad 3 panels in ground down and a little metal to metal added for good measure, who said these old trucks can't be fun

Darn brake power booster/parts didn't arrive yet, so I just suffered through this weekend, by taking it for a cruise.

They say it was shipped Friday, so next week it's power disc brakes for Sunny. If things go as planned, yaa right.

For some reason most of my parts are shipped on Friday. Bummer...

Drove Grandpa for the first time in 8 months. New brakes, wheel cylinders, wheel seals and cleaned-up rims sporting new rubber.

It was a good weekend

I have been converting my Suburban from SM420 to an SM318 with B/W OD. Of course I had to swap out the torque tube rear. It has been fighting me every step of the way.

But I'm finally seeing the light. I have a re-built 3.90 rear installed in a '55 1st housing and the tranny installed with shifter hooked up.

Last night I made up a harness for it and got it installed. I got one u-joint installed but the other was too big. Back to NAPA to exchange it today.

I still need to install the lockout cable.

But after 2 months of cleaning parts, overcoming set-backs and obstacles and cleaning more parts I should be back on the road this week. WOOHOO!

Adjusted the drum brakes and filled the master cylinder resevoir (where did all the fluid go?). Kind of a mystery as there are no leaks anywhere. Maybe the guy I bought it from never got it full. Pedal is high and hard, now, and I can skid to a stop

Also, tightened up the steering box. The whole frontend had been rebuilt and aligned but we were still wandering all over the road. The free-play (sector shaft) adjustment was way too loose. Much better now and I feel safe all the way up to 55 mph, which I didn't before. I think I'm going to drive it to work, soon.

Sanded all the paint off the grille for my 51 Burb, and got it primered before the sun went down. Now what to do, I wore my fingers down to the nubs? Maybe a cold beer will help keep the swelling down!

Perhaps one beer for each finger and two for each thumb. That should do the job...

Today I installed a new carburetor insulator with the hope that it will solve a problem. My 48 216 1/2 ton is hard to start when the engine is hot. It starts when cold, but after it has run down the street and back it must cool off before it will start.
I had to use the old carburetor gasket because Truck Stop sent me the wrong insulator gasket. See ya going for a test drive

Today, I got the cab interior repainted. It was the conclusion to an entire summer's worth of work of disassembly, stripping, grinding and sanding, in 90 to 100 degree weather. YEAH!!!(that is me dancing in the street). Now the fun part starts.

Where are those pics di, we need proof.

Put the pilot bearing, clutch, pressure plate, fork, fork ball, and throw out bearing back in the ol 38. Waiting on tranny bearings and gaskets. Would like to have everything back together by Labor Day - have to wait and see.

I finished up the OD install last night. I just got back from the test drive. Still need to do some adjustment on the shifter but everything else worked as it's supposed to.

WOO HOO! I'm pumped. Kansas City here we come.

Installed a rebuilt steering gear box on my 58 fleetside. I'm beat. Putting the steering wheel back on tomorrow and I'll be finished.

Reinstalled the exhaust and turbocharger after powdercoating.
prepping to fit the cab in a couple weekends.

I changed engine oil and filter, greased chassis and driveline, adjusted valves. I then loaded Dad's cement mixer to haul back to him after I borrowed it this spring to pour sidewalks around my new shop.

Tomorrow (Sunday) i'll get some time on the truck.
I'm just waiting on my new driveshaft,but will lay out my trans cooler lines,fit and secure the brake booster vacuum hose.
That's what I'd like to do, but in reality.........

Finished putting the steering wheel on after the steering box swap. Since I had to remove the exhaust pipe going into the left header in order to renmove and install the box, I have an exhaust leak at the header due to a bad seal. Will tighten everything back up tomorrow. Also installed a new turn signal switch, due to a bad one.

Took the Apache for a test drive and what was 3 feet of steering wheel play has been knocked down to just a hair of play.

well put the green to it today can sure tell where i missed getting some body work done, looked good put could have been better, she's a driver
