This happened to me last week, and I thought some of you might find it amusing.
The old man passed away last December and I inherited his house. It's the house I grew up in, and it was the only house my dad ever owned. We've had the same house and phone number since 1965. If you are familar with east Tulsa, you would know it's not as nice as it was in '65. Anyway I'm walking my bassett hound around eleven at night. I'm about fifty feet from my house letting the dog urinate. I notice a shady looking guy walking down the street but he walking away from me. About ten houses down I see two cars parked side by side in the street. Suddenly I hear a popping sound. I think to myself, is that gunfire? I then notice the shading looking guy starts running like hell. I hear one of the two cars burning rubber and coming towards me at a high rate of speed with gunfire still audible. I decide to run QUICKLY to my '49 6400 and get down by the front fenders. I figure between the big old tires and that heavy sheet metal I would be safe. The car roared past my house at about 60 mph and a few house down they fired some more shots. I got a good look at the vehicle and called it in to the police. I will be perfectly honest, when I drove up the Nebraska to get this truck I NEVER figured I would use it for cover in a drive by shooting! A chevy big bolt: what CAN'T they do?

Dave,

Sorry to hear about that but I am glad you are OK and had more then adequate cover to run to, I hope the persons responsible are caught and punished.
