Are the distributors different between the 216 and the 235? Are they different than the 261?

TIA

The 1954 and later truck 235 and 261 distributors are interchangeable.

The 1954 (and '53 Powerglide ??) automobile distributors can work on 54-62 trucks; however, the mechanical advance springs/weights might be different, and the geometry of the vacuum advance units are different.

I think I remember correctly that the pre-54 truck 216/235 distributors are different from the 54 and later distributors (but, this might just be the cap and rotor). Maybe someone who knows will clarify this.

Napa list the same distributors for the 216 & 235 thru the last one in 1962. The cap & rotor is taller on the 235 but if you change both they work ok.

Thanks, Kelly
