I would like to keep the original gauges in my 53.

That was my first try but the threads on the temp sensor are flare threads and the pipe bushings are just a little to big.

| | | | | Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 | I think you need to clarify that "flare fitting" part, didn't the 216 years all have mechanical gauges with a threaded bulb on the end? a flare fitting is for tubing with a flare on the end for sealing liquid .... any temp sender I've ever seen has standard brass pipe threads and will fit various brass plumbing fittings .... maybe you're actually dealing with the oil pressure gauge?

that is exactly what I need. I will check with NAPA again tomorrow and if they don't have it, I know where to go.

NAPA did not have one of these in stock but there picture was the same as this one. This fitting looks like it would go into a 216 head with the small end for a new style temp sensor.
As it turns out one of my street rod buddies had one of the fittings I needed but thanks for your help anyway.
