For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 78 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 78 | I ordered the electric windshield wiper motor (12volt)for my 53 3100 I'm restoring. The instructions said that it must be used with the original motor bracket to attach it. My truck does not have this bracket. Does anyone know where I can get one? I have checked all of the salvage yards locally without any luck. Thanks.

Have you tried to install it ? 1951 3100 Chevrolet1951 Chevrolet Suburban CarryallImage"A house is built with boards and beams. A home is built with love and dreams." It is the small Z shaped piece in the middle it bolts to your column support and then the motor and dash bracket that should be spot welded at the factory up underneath. http://community.webshots.com/photo/2584121050102454676TdWGuT | | | | | Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 4,263 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 4,263 | Here a pic of a 12 volt wiper installed in a 1950 Chevy. 12 volt wiper pic The welded bracket Brad is referring to is on the left. The Black one on the right is the one you’re missing. That is a new one that came with the kit I purchased You may be able to call Newport They provide that bracket with the kit they sell. I don’t know if they sell the brackets alone but it worth a shot. Good luck | | | | | Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 78 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 78 | Thanks to you and Brad for the pictures. I have all of the parts that Brad's picture has including the z shaped bracket. I bought the new motor from Brothers trucks. In their instructions they show the z shaped bracket attaching to a much larger bracket which attaches to one end of the motor. They say this larger bracket is the original. Is that the black one you are referencing or is that the dash bracket that Brad mentions? Sorry, I'm a little confused here but appreciate your patience.

That z shape bracket and the one tacked to the dash are the two originals. I used the black z shaped one that came with the kit I purchased from newport but it was the same as original. wiper pic Wiper pic Here are some pics from Mr Denny Grahms Web site of an original wiper set up with brackets Pic 1 pic 2 Good Luck
