i know there has to be a million posts about this but im going to ask anyways. just rebuilt my motor (63' 327) havent timed it yet cause i dont have a timing gun (ill be getting one this week), havent played with the idle mixture screws much yet- but it does run. i just got it started about a week ago- it starts up fine and will run till the cows come home- idle or driving. but if it dies (mostly from my inexperience with a clutch so hard) it wont start again. it dosent even sound like it wants to start. the vacume advance on the carb is caped till i get it timed right, and it turns over just fine- it just wont start. any suggestions what it could be? im asking before i time it because my internet is going to be down for a couple days- i can check on my phone, but i cant post anything. i removed the choke from the carb, but since its already warmed up when this happens i dont think it has anything to do with it. so just to recap- not timed, first start fires right up, warms up, shut it down and it wont start until it cools back down. (usually dont try till the next day or so). any help or hints would be appreciated!

Your timing may be too far advanced. Id check the timing first and go from there.

Also check to see if you have spark and fuel.
