If you are looking for "correct" fabric(s) and color(s) the photo won't help. The 1957 was different.

Thanks for your reply! This photo is of a 1957 3200 series restored interior. If you are saying the pic won't help I do not understand your comment. This must have been a standard interior and many must have it in their 57 trucks? I hope someone has restored their trucks on this site and understand what I am talking about?

looks pretty close to the 57's I've had, although I don't think the pic is actually of original, certainly not the seat .... the color names won't do you any good, but the 57 standard interior colors were "Marble Gray" [the light part] and "Charcoal" [the dark parts, including the dash top, which was flattened] - another listed interior color name was "Granite Gray"

what you need to do is find some existing original paint on the truck and get it matched .... also the "ceiling material" [headliner] was an embossed [rectangles, not like the repros] black naugahyde-like fabric [and repros are plastic] with a jute layer on back glued to the metal

Hi Bill! Thank you very much! I knew someone knew the colors and interior spec's! This will give me a starting pont and I sure do appreciate your input Bill.

not at all - the first was similar, but not patterned well, the piping of the seams is wrong and the padding looks too "overstuffed couch" like .... this gives an idea [ignore the make-shift colors] how the piping should be right at the edges and the padding flatter [don't have the truck anymore to get a better pic] - also there's pics in the owners manual that might help, the standard material was plain gray naugahyde-like, and could have had a contrasting color around the sides

Thanks so much Bill! You know I have been digging around on the internet and when someone posts a 57 for sale and they say it has been professionally restored - that is what I believe unless told differently. The Truck restoration product books I have don't include the colors, optional patterns and full replacement kits like the tri-five Chevy's do? Why do you think that is and is there any upolstry shops that know what is going on?

"professionally restored" just means someone did the work for money - like a body shop or an upholstry shop which maybe has some, none, or a lot of experience with actual vintage restoration, so regardless of the quality of workmanship, historic accuracy is a seperate question ... if you search you can find believeable examples of good unrestored vehicles to gauge "originality" by - like this low mileage example which shows some deluxe features, including the deluxe seat - there are likely other TF trucks in the ga11ery that are "correct"

the tri5 cars are a category unto themselves in todays world, iconic, and as cars they came with a lot of variations ... for trucks there really was only 2 seat choices, standard or deluxe, and I doubt many work truck buyers wanted to spend the money on the fancy bits, so suppliers mostly deal in the standard items, unless it's some flashy chrome that present day owners prefer ... I believe there is a supplier for the seat material that's been discussed here, including that deluxe pattern

Dan, sorry I didn't explain myself in an understandable manner. In the meantime I searched my archived pics for some pics I thought I might have to help you out. Found them but challenged as far as posting pics. If you'd like to see what I have from the Dealer Data Book shoot me an email. [email protected]

Hey Dan- Keep this thread going with anything else you find out- I've had a lot of the same questions around my '57 3100- if you find more photos and need help posting them let me know. I'm curious about those photos Bruce was talking about.
And Bill, thanks for the great info-
