I've had the truck rewired with Classic Harness but didn't have the tail lamp done at that time. The tail light works but cannot figure out the stop lamp. I will not be near my trucks and/or the Classic Parts (Chevy Duty) instructions for a few weeks. As I recall, the purple wires are for turn signals (non-standard wiring). It is possible to wire it for the single tail lamp - maybe someone near their one-tail/stop-lamp Classic Parts harness installation will post a reply.
Are the purple wires exactly the same (or does one have a ridge or stripe on it)?
Did you try calling Classic Parts Technical Support?

I think I need to have the hot wire and the white wire ( which I think in the front is connected to the stop lamp switch) wired together at the rear and the other grounded and should work, right? Haven't been able to try that combo yet. Maybe my guy has a wire hooked up wrong in front regarding the purple wires, it seems they should be for the signals though. pink- left turn & brakes on dual taillight application
light purple-right turn & brakes on dual taillight application
white- brakes on single taillight application if on dual taillight application you can use white for backup lamps by putting switch at dash and running jumper to front end of wire.
