What are, if any, differences in the bodies of a 1948 and a 1950 GMC truck

I assume you mean the cab?
AFAIK the main difference will be in the cab mounts.
Plus 2 more years of rust! wink

The 48 would have used a 3-point,whereas the 50 4-point mounts.
I'm sure somebody will be along soon to confirm this and any other subtle differences.

Also the 48 would have the gas tank under the frame.

Nope 1948 would be lever (knee) action and the 50 would have modern tube shocks.

I believe they also changed the stamped stiffening ribs on the firewall between 48 and 50.
