I used to have a 64 chevy c-10 350/350 automatic. But now I maybe getting a 64 c-20 it has a 350 with a standard trans not sure what size. But I wanted to put a 350 auto in it but how would the rear end handle it? Would I be better off swapping for another rear end? If so what year and make would fit right in there without any welding or cutting? Could i have 8 lugs up front and 6 lugs or 5 lugs in rear with no problems?

You more than likely have an Eaton HO52 you won't destroy it time with a TH350. Your biggest problem is the rear axle ratio, it is probably 4.56 or higher. The best gear ratio you might find is 4.10. I would look at putting a 700R4 in it. The 700R4 overdrive would get your highway rpm down to 2200-2400.

Forget about the C20. Find a C10. Especially in California where you've gotta take a freeway to get any and everywhere. It's just too much hassle plain and simple.
Parts are much easier to come by for the 1/2 ton. There's stuff for the C20 that you just can't get. And if you can, it's more expensive. If it's just a truck to drive, find a C10. If you want a truck that looks cool AND for hauling capacity, then yeah a C20 with 700R4 will do you just fine.

Yep you right brotha. Doesn't look like I want the c-20 after all. I been making deals and am getting rid of my 50 buick roadmaster project for a 61 c-10 longbed fleet. Been wanting an apache for a long time now. Still got me my 51 pontiac chief so that will be kinda cool to see a apache and chieftain next to each other. Thanks for the advice guys.
