Hey John,
what year truck do you have, and is it a Chevy or GMC?
There are some differences.

I have a 1948 chevy 1/2 ton that seems basic, it had no radio and heater delete.

Black was the standard wheel color for 1948 Chevrolet trucks. There was no optional wheel color that year but special-order wheel colors were a possibility.

I have to disagree. My 48 half ton rims were body color, with painted rings. I have the deluxe cab, and maybe that made a difference, but I'm guessing they were all painted body color.

I have to agree with the Shop Shark--I have a '48 5 window deluxe 1/2 ton with rims painted body color, and three "medium cream" stripes.

Thanks for the correction, guys.

I was basing my post on the information on standard wheels in the Restoration Pack - 1948 Truck Specifications\. It indicates that all standard truck wheels were black. The pages for the options are missing. Oddly, it indicates the RPO wheels were Forester Green.

Appears to me that we all had some truths, and collectively were able to resolve this. Very interesting topic--Stovebolt forums are simply the greatest. Thanks guys!
