It is a very easy swap to do.
Off the top of my head there are only two things that you've got to deal with-
The waterpump/fan etc... the 216 was different from the 235 in terms of mounting location and how far it protruds towards the radiator.
Also, you MAY need the front engine mount from the 216 to use on your 235. Some 235s had side engine mounts and didn't use the front engine mount, so you'll want the front mount from your 216.
Save the vavle cover from your 216 and the two head bolts that hold it in place. You could put those on your 235 and make it look like a 216.

There are also adapters for the water pump problem that work well. On some of the later motors the temp gauge hole is a different size and when you get the later 235 be sure and get the generator bracket as it is different from the 216.

You ought to be able to wire the starter on the 235 the same as the starter on your 216. I think the flywheels are the same, so you can probably swap the starters, too, if that's easier. Since my 235 was bought as a long block, I am using the flywheel, bell housing and transmission that were hooked up to the 216. Lots of sources for the short shaft water pump (I don't recall where I got mine). If you have to drill holes in the front plate (as I did), you will also want to file them square to accept the carriage bolts for the front mount. Good luck - fun project!

But $500 for a Motor & Trans is a great deal. Thanks, Kelly 53 3100 http://www.cravy.com/53-3100/LadyAfterRats.jpg
