the lmc stuff is not bad but there is better. I used lmc eckler and goodmark when I did my truck and the goodmark and eckler were the best followed by lmc. lmc has the most available parts though. When I got all of mine I compaired and gage of metal was thicker with better companies. My stuff has been on for about 2 years though and I have no rust on any of it. My truck is garage kept at all times though.

Horrible Terrible and just all around bad in every way shape and form. I had a guy doing the major body work on my 65 and he order some skins from LMC. He called me up told me I need to come look at these things. So, they were basically a flat piece of 18 gauge sheet metal with black primer on them. No shape what so ever. Need less to say they got sent back. I had multiple other problems with all the patch panels I got from LMC. I would avoid buying any patches from LMC and just make them when possible.

How do I know so much about these trucks?

I am in the midle of welding in patch panels in my '66 C10 myself...First time I've done this. My experience so far is that its much more complicated than it appears...Between rust and trying to find and drill out all the spot welds, its way more time comnsuming than I thought it would be, not as easy as cut out a piece and weld in the new one. The other thing (and that part that is relevant to your question!) I've learned is that patch panels for the most part are a starting point...They are a rough approximation of the part they are supposed to replace and need at least some cutting, bending and modification to do the job. Still much easier (usually) than starting form a flat piece of sheet metal, but definitely not a plug and play proposition.

That said, its very satisfying seeing a floor where there was just a rusty hole, and knowing I did it myself...
