I finally got my engine back in my '66 C10. I bit the bullet and shelled out the dough for an Offy with 2 carbs and cast iron headers from Langdons, which means I now get to fabricate/re-route/generally mess with various linkages etc.....I've got a plan for the fuel lines, but the water lines for water heating the intake are troubling me. I don't want a nest of snakes with hoses and wires etc everywhere, so I am trying to avoid just laying a couple hoses off of the heater system over the valve cover. I'm thinking maybe I will run a T fitting off the thermostat and water pump heater lines, and then run copper tubing to the manifold.

Anybody got any advice or better yet pictures of how you got your water to your Offy manifolds on a straight six?

Thanks.

You have two options. First is running water lines off the water pump/therostat housing or running them off the exhaust. I did the exhaust for two reasons. First in theory, the exhaust will heat up much faster than water to do what it is designed to do. Finally, its much closer, making for a cleaner look when complete. Here is a pic of what I did....
