I want to rebuild my carb. I get two different part numbers,2g/2gv or 2g/2gc it's a Rochester. any help would great. was'nt sure if I should post this some where else. thanks Brett

The best way to ID the carb is the brass tag that is/was under one of the cover screws. Most of the time it is gone by know. The 2G is manual choke & the 2GC is auto choke. I don't know where the 2GV comes in.

I think the V means the bowl is vented. It shouldn't make any difference in a replacement or parts kit.

The kit that I bought from napa covers all the 2g carbs. there was about 4 different sets of gaskets in there.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of buying both kits as I have'nt an I.D. tag and can't find a #. It's a 283 v8 with a three on the tree converted to floor shift, as far as I can tell.Just picked her up in may. Brett

dr.carbs note that the choke is now located outside the carb body ( for the disignation 'V') is correct - but the mechanism that drives it is Vacuum .
