Why not just buy ROCKER PANELS and use them? Hopefully this mystery will be cleared up at some point. | | | | | Joined: May 2010 Posts: 33 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2010 Posts: 33 | well gentleman. i bow to your knowledge and appreciate your advice. in all the pictures that i have seen, this rocker panel did not look like it was the right one. maybe shadow or my eyesight. i would gladly buy this part if it was 49 inches long. my one ton needs 49" long panels not 43" but if i have to stitch the 39" door skins then why would i not just buy two and stitch the 5 " i need one to one side. thank you for letting me know that this rocker panel is the right one.i will place an order shortly.i am so new to this that all the help you new friends have given me is above and beyond.

If it's the same shape as the ones on a 1/2 ton you could probably weld two together if it's too short, but I bought a pair that did not have the ends formed. I still have them. I'll measure them tomorrow and maybe I can save you some money.
BTW, The rockers are much thicker than the door skin. I'd strongly advise against that idea.

The cab on your 1-ton is the same as a cab on a 1/2 ton. The rockers that I linked to are correct for your cab.

The word "rocker panel" is being used here but I think you mean rear quarter panel. Now if I remember correctly, the outside rear corner panel for the truck cab goes from the door pillar back. (I missed this -> the title of the thread is "door skins for 52 panel") Regular cab panels of of little usefulness. Outer door skins are supposed to be a good replacement (but, you are correct to see if you can get a reply from someone who has done this). Jim Carter has panel-body panels made by Ray Stanley.(Or, contact Ray directly) | | |
