The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop Oil Pan Baffels

Got an aluminum oil pan for my 302 gmc 6 cylinder. I was looking at it and noticed it does not have any baffels in it to stop the oil from pooling up at the rear of the engine during heavy- knock your head back acceleration. I plan on driving this way! Are these necessary on Inline Engines? Would it be difficult to have them welded to the aluminum, I understand you would have to position them as to miss any of the rotational parts of the engine, as that would be bad if they ever hit!

Line 'em up with the main caps. Also, the actual idea is to keed the oil pickup submerged during cornering, accelleration, and braking (or popping wheelies! ). If you do put them in, make sure that you leave a gap at the bottom and possibly a few hole higher up so the oil can flow throughout the pan.
