I just bought a 50 five-window. I decoded the engine to be a 1958 235.

I can't find any where to decode the trans and rear. trans is a 3 speed on column and rear is supposed to be original.

The trans numbers are as follows:
4
GM
691816

HR214789

H190

The rearend numbers are:
HE1025 and 3657339

Thanks for your help!

HR214789 : HR = 1950 Muncie?
HE = 1950 3100 regular rear end?

Thanks Tim, that was the link I was looking for.

Looks like rear end was built Oct 25th, which makes sense since trim plate shows truck built in Nov.

Could that Muncie be original, with the August date? Also looks like it may of came from a 3600. Mine is a 3100.

Chad,

I also do not understand the 3600 transmission. Maybe someone else will look at this and correct/clarify.

chad,

Can you recheck that trans. casting #691816.

I think a 50, 3 speed casting should begin with a 5.
Something like 591615.
