working on my '59 burb. Trying to stay true to form with bias-plys. It's unfortunate, the tires that are on it were brand new, but the truck sat around long enough before I aquired it that the side walls were well into the dry-rot phase.

I'm looking for replacements. The ones that were on there were 7.50-16LT. I'm having a hard time tracking down reasonably priced similar tires. Hate to think of going to radials, but might not have a choice. What are you guys running that is close to stock?

Well that is a question on where the rubber meets the road.
As you know tires get old like everything else.The good news is that companies like Coker and DiamondBack make new ones but the cost about the same $$ as radials.
Running 30 yr old tires is dangerous so time to shell out for new skins.

I bought Nanco (chinese) for my Burb and paid $62 w/tube for 600-16. I think 7.50-16 were $100. You can try Ebay and type in the size or a store with them on ebay is Gearworks, I think. They seem fine for the couple mile trip I drive but anything longer I'd get radials depending on the condition of the roads you drive.

I bought a set of Lester tires last year, $90 each same size as you described. Bias ply with tubes. He had a booth at the flea market.

For any brand names not including Goodyear who still makes their own. but, all the others Coker tires has made. Some are made here or factories outside of the USA.Infact, I recall they were using 3 or 4 factories the last time I asked about three years ago.

The fact is that there is smaller companies that may sale a tire at a lower cost. but, do find out how they ride. Lucus Tire has some good tires that are just a little cheeper or a little more per tire than Coker. Take a look at the warrenty that goes with the tire as well. I know Coker will stand behind their product. With the extended warrenty is even better. 5 years is a long time for a set of tires that on our daily used car or truck only last up to two years. That is real good. I understand but, have not checked it out. but, I was told that Lucus was not as good as that.

If you look at Lucus or Coker you should do well.

PoetsSeatAuto- I have been doing some more scrounging around and found that Jeg's sells the coker tires too. The prices are pretty much the same, but if I went down to Jegs and ordered them the shipping costs would be greatly reduced.

If you ordered threw me. I would have them shipped direct to you from the Coker shipping department. Most all tires tend to be around 14.00-25.00 per tire to ship. I prefer the direct shipping so that I don't need to charge shipping twice. once to me then you. so, I have a account that allows me to direct ship.

Now, there is no picture for that tire. so, If you provide me some more details. I will look it up and get back to you on Tuesday.
I will be going out of town in about an hour and come back on Tuesday.

I know the size. but, I need the brand. Transport wheel I would think it would be a street/truck tire tread.

I just want to verify so, we can look at the correct tire. If you find it on CokerTire.com let me know which one you are looking at.
