I have installed an aftermarket windshield in my '56 3600.
the tag said it was from the land of not so right.uh-oh
It went in somewhat easily and everything looks right except for the lower right corner,off about 11/16, I have slapped it around till my hands hurt and I cannot get that corner to come down.the other side,top and bottom are even, Is this common for aftermarket windshields?
Should I just pull the weathwerstrip down and goop it in and be happy with it?
any input?

unfortunately that's not uncommon with any windshield, even swapping originals between cabs - there's instructions in the shop manual for pre-checking the fit, and I wouldn't doubt the assembly line regularly set one aside and tried another after this initial check .... the dogleg is the problem, gotta deal with it as best you can

I did do the prefit,even cut the 3/16 blocking. It didn't look that far off,I thought that fat weatherstriping would cover it up, can't really send it back. I'll come up with something.
On a lighter note, every time my wife walk's into the shop and I'm working on the '56 she calls "shotgun", she helped me with the windshield and now she doesn't want shotgun..."I'll get all wet!"

Had the same problem with mine. Took the glass shop 2 tries to get one that fit. The one that fit is a Pilkington, very pleased with it.

I had the same exact problem, but on the opposite side. Lower left corner WILL NOT seat, but the rest is in and the window will not budge further. I ended up cracking it pushing too hard. Did you end up fixing it?

yes, I cut some thin strips of mud flap and put it in between the windshield and the rubber,it pushed the rubber "back" far enough to make it look good,don't know about leaks yet

The windshield opening has a large tolerance due to being made of several pieces, each having their own tolerances. The glass has a tolerance also. So if you get a opening on the small end of the tol and a glass on the large end of tolerance, It'a bad day or two. Instructions say put top in them bottom. Tried mine three times before putting bottom then top. My glass guy said too nuch Chinese glass. If he breaks it, I buy a new one, not him. So I did it myself. Biggest tip, soap soap soap and suction cup glass holder, Use Pilkington glass and Steele rubber.I'm talking TF.
