Center of crank is tapered, no threads. Looks as if it was pounded on in the past(evidence on the end) just want to make sure i'm doing this stuff correct, thanks! | | | | | Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 | Do a search on drilling and threading the crank for installing the balancer without having to beat it on , I think that Hotrod Lincoln just made a tool to help us out ,I just rebuilt my 216 and when it was apart I threaded the crank for a 7/16 fine thread bolt so all you have to do is thread a bolt in than screw a nut with a washer in and the balancer goes on nice and easy.

Solid center hits and it slid on real nice. It don't take much to get it going. Just don't stand on the bumper and strike it like your driving in railroad track spikes!!
