I successfully made and installed new door panels on my '50 1/2 ton and now I'd like to take a stab at doing the same with the headliner. I'd like to make one that's one-piece but need a pattern. Would someone be willing to send me one they have used or trace one on some butcher paper and mail it to me? I'm more than willing to pay for your materials, time and postage.

I'd appreciate any help.

Sometimes when I need to make a large pattern for a project, I use a large piece of cardboard from an appliance or furniture store shipping box and a razor knife. Any cardboard that is ruined is free and does not damage the headliner material you must buy.

Give Jim Carter a call I've been told they sell the pattern for this.

talk some more about how you are planning to do this - what are you using for the headliner, etc. I am doing it too and had a hard time finding material but got something that works pretty well, but getting it to mold to the curves is not easy. Still debating whether to surrender and buy a one piece fiberglass one.

Finally got a reply from Jim Carter, Inc. and they said they do not have a pattern they can send me. They also do not sell a one piece headliner.....only two piece.

I found what I think will be a great piece of material for my headliner.......an old 4 X 6 plastic POLITICAL SIGN!! They plaster the things all over during local elections and then throw them away afterwards. I confiscated one after our last election. I've used this same material as the basis for my door panels with good success. I covered them in sheet vinyl glued on with 3M adhesive. It's sturdy material and the price was right.

One-piece headliner from Classic Parts is $190 (they do not list a pattern for sale).

Thanks tclederman for the link but it's way too expensive for me, and besides, I want to make my own, so........

If anyone out there has ordered one of these one piece headliners recently and hasn't installed it yet, please trace it off on some butcher paper and mail it to me!! I'd love to give it a try using my locally aquirred signage to make mine with.
