I'm new to this. Bought a truck from a guy who put some large street-rod type wheels on it, and I'm looking to get closer to original. Thanks in advance for any help, Eric Sunny Memphis, Tennessee

The thing to also remember is if you are running the original tie-rod you will have clearance issues due to offset with modern wheels. I added clips to mine so I can run original caps and I modified my front end for clearance, here is a picture of them installed. http://community.webshots.com/photo/2714049360102454676KZVSpY | | | | Joined: May 2010 Posts: 33 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2010 Posts: 33 | did you find 8 lug rims? i have 6 spare rims with the 52 i just bought. any one know how hard too find these are? let me know ok they are 17 x 7.5 | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 769 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 769 | OEM 8 lug wheels If you want new, here are some. | | | | Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 2,201 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 2,201 | They call those OE, but they are not correct for AD trucks in that the hubcap nubs are for newer vehicles. I have a pair listed in the parts for sale section with the suicide rings and hubcap clips intact. | | | | Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 78 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 78 | What did you do to modify the front end to clear the tie rods? Or did you swap out the whole thing? 1959 Chevy 3/4-ton (pics posted soon)
I child-proofed my house, but my kids keep finding their way back in. | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 2 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 2 | So I was hoping to go more original - hubcaps and such, but it looks like the hubs are too long to do that. Pardon my lack of knowledge and improper terms here (feel free to correct me). guumbah - I haven't done anything to it. Bought it from a guy in florida who tinkered with it.
