So my freshly rebuilt 235 was running smooth on first start. When I went to start it again, the carb backfired and gas started coming out of the side of the carb where the throttle linkage is. I have rebuilt the carb AGAIN, but I don't want the same thing to happen. My first start was successful with the pointer on the line between the U and C on the flywheel and the rotor on plug 1. Is this too far advanced? Not enough? Should it be dead on the steel ball and plug one? The engine is not 180 degrees out either. Please help...
