The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk 1957/1958 - instrument gauge clusters?

Can anyone tell me if the instrument cluster and or parts (like the temp gauge and speedo) from a 1957 chevy truck are the same as what is in a 1958 chevy truck. I apologize for not introducing myself yet, but I just recently bought this truck and had it on the road for the first time yesterday. I have the opportunity to buy the instrument cluster out of a 57 chevy truck and would like to get it for spare parts if they are compatible. Thanks in advance for any help and I will post pictures and introduce myself next week.

the entire cluster is identical and interchangeable 56-59 [the 55 2nd too, except most of them have a mechanical temp gauge rather than electric], grab any spares you can get, especially cheap ones!

Thanks for the quick response Bill. Complete cluster was on ebay for $50 plus shipping, so I didn't want to wait too long. If I didn't hear from anyone I probably would have taken a chance on it, but it was nice to pay for it knowing I wasn't buying a paper weight for my desk - Al
