on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2010 Posts: 303 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2010 Posts: 303 | Hello to all the forum members. I have been surfing this site a some others for a while now. I have found that there is a bit more info here then on the other sites. And the members here seem to be more helpful and rsspond to the threads more. I built a replica car on a Chevette drive train last summer so my wife and I picked up this 60 Apache a few weeks ago for a new project. It is kinda ugly but has a solid cab and frame so I think I can get it back in shape. It has the original 235 with the 3 speed. I drove it home but it was showing low oil preasure at idle. The next day I tinkered with it some and found a bearing cap and 2 bearings in the oil pan. Looks like the cap came loose. So my next step is to replace main and rod bearings and see what happens. I have worked on other engines in the past but never a 235. The good thing is that the 235 appears to be fairly easy to work on. I would post some pics but haven't figured that out yet | | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,215 Moderator | | Moderator Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,215 | Welcome, lots of info here. Good to see you want to keep the 235.

Good luck with your 235,I hope it's OK. We look forward to the pics once you've sussed out how. The image posting details in the left side bar should help. Leo Thank you all for the replies. I would like to keep the truck as original as possible. But also have it where it is driveable. After pulling the pan and looking at the crankshaft. I found the crank shaft to look good. And that the cap appears to have vibrated loose over the years. I'm pretty sure that new mains will fix the engine right up. | | |
