I have just purchased a 1948 2 ton Loadmaster .The rear spring is broken in two at the eye(left side).Does anyone know where I can purchase a replacement? The old truck was parked under a barn since 1974 and has a jam up stake body on it. Must have hauled some HEAVY loads in its day to have broken a spring. The chassis shows no damage otherwise.If only these old trucks could talk oh what stories they could tell!

Someone may have a used one if you put an ad in the parts wanted section. If you can't find one, spring shops can make one.

I just had a couple of top leafs made for the front of my '47 1.5 ton.
Search this site using the search button at top right. There is heaps of info.

check new prices before you buy second hand, I was surprised ($65 per spring in NZ, although the fronts are a lot smaller).

There is no problem getting the steel to make them. All standard stuff.
