Can you post photos? There were a wide variety of types and brands of filters and a variety of attachment brackets. Are you trying to get the bracket (and both mounting u-bolts) to the rear of the horn boss (forward of the carb)? You'll see from this diagram that the bracket/bolts "straddle" the horn boss (and are positioned as far to the rear as possible). More location-instructions for another assembly. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 165 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 165 | The one pictured is what I have Tim, measuring outside of the edges of the bracket it is 5 1/2 inches and it puts the holes way out of alingement to the bosses on the manifold and runs just passed a 2 hole boss that the horn bolts to, I'll try to get a decent picture of it today, and doesn't touch the manifold except where the half round portion of the mounting is, it doesn't even come close to resting against the two raised bumps.
