LEON2982 The diff/ pumpkin in your truck is not in the center. Chevs have one short axel and one long, this is part of your 6 to 8 inch diff. And shocks do not set ride height , they dappen spring rebound. SO check ride height by putting truck on flat/level surface and measure from center of spring at the axel to frame. This should tell you if there is a bad /broken /bent spring. both sides front and rear should be real close.
I too need to upgrade shocks on my 46 3600 ,i have not gone into it much but i have started by getting a pair of upper shock mounts from a 59 3600. The fun part is finding a shock that is the correct length. hope this helps
