I am planning on re-flooring my '65 this summer. Does anyone know if any decent diagrams or drawings exist on how the individual pieces of the floor fit together? I know there are lots of repro panels available, and I may use some, but I am very good at making my own panels and welding them in, so I am mostly interested in how the floor is supposed to be made and what order of replacement makes the most sense. I know that there is a long brace under each side of the floor, and that there is a more or less straight flange under the door bottom...not sure how this all melds together. A lot of mine is full of cancer and I need to know what the best order of replacement is. Any help/advice is welcome. Thanks. Jim

i have replaced the floors in 2 60's trucks. i bought my parts from lmc. their panels have some overlap from one panel to next so you may not need as many as you think. i wouldn't make these parts for the cost. i mean some of the flat pieces could be made, but even their parts will need a little working. the only part of the floor that's really flat is from edge of seat over to hump. i bet you'll have to get rockers and cab supports too.

I'll be doing mine this summer, too. Right now (I haven't started tearing apart yet), it looks like the outer floor, front cab supports, cab corners, and rocker panels. The outer floor sections I bought include the inner rockers. I'll undoubtedly have to fab some pieces or buy more patch panels, but I think I've got most of it covered.
I'm not after a show truck, but I plan on pulling the cab off to properly preserve the floor and frame...for the next 40+ years!

If you can't fix it with a hammer and screwdriver, you need a bigger hammer.

The Diagram in LMC is wrong. It shows the inner rocker panel as a seperate piece and its not, its made onto the floor patch panel. Also, the panels are no good. None of beads rolled into the panels line up with the ones in the floor. The only thing that does line up is the place for the cab mount. The panels are really made for a 67-72. Be aware of all the cab patch panels from just about any company as they all come from the the same place in Taiwan.

How do I know so much about these trucks?
I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

when I did mine I got panels from ecklers goodmark and lmc. All imports but the ecklers and goodmark where a thicker gauge and a better fit.

Hummmm...I was wondering specifically how the rocker panel backside (which is flat I think) fits against the main floorpan? Is it a butt joint, or does it fold into it and become the lip that the door rubber installs onto? Also, I was thinking to leave the rocker panel for last...to maintain cab integrity and dimensions. Any more thoughts? Jim
