I am new to this restoring thing and I am starting with a 1960 Chevy Apache. I am in the process of taking it down to the frame - and having a blast doing it! I am going to need a lot of help in the future so I will be posting often.
Anyway, On to my questions (I know its probably way too early to be asking these questions):
1) What is the easiest and cheapest way to install power steering in my truck??
2) What is the easiest and cheapest way to install Air conditioning in my truck??
and finally ......
3) What is the best and cheapest way to put front disc brakes in my truck?? Hopefully I can go to a junkyard and get a setup that will bolt directly in but I doubt it willbe that easy.

What is a REZ kit???? And to sound really stupid - I assume a C10 is a Chevy truck??
What are the minor modifications needed to bolt in the front cross member?

#64419 08/16/2006 2:30 PM | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 | I know a fella down the road has done it on his '60,,not real sure what all is involved but it runs/drives & has disc brakes & powerful steering now. the frames are different on the 60-62 but he said it fit pretty well, I know he drilled some holes & used some spacers, its not a direct bolt-in like my '64 was. REZ kit is just a kit w/plates that allows a later box to fit easily & keeps proper geometry n the steering linkage. they are available from REZ engineering or vendors. brian | | |

In fact I saw him last week, he is wanting me to list his 60 on ePay sometime-needs $$$ for a house down payment. Of course, I am so broke I cannot pay attention or it would be mine-'60 short fleet, V8 3 spd, custom cab, has the stainless trim down the sides & across the back of the cab. brian | | |
