Well my old wheels are rusted to [censored] so im forced to go out and buy new ones. Im looking to run as wide of a rim possible in the rear and I was wondering what you guys with stepsides are running in terms of widths. Im looking at cragar soft 8's 15x10 -38 offset in the rear and 15x8 -38 offset up front. Not sure if Ill be able to run the 10's so any info would be greatly apprecicated.

I can't give you a yes or no answer to that, but can only offer a suggestion if you want to go that wide with your wheel/tire combo.

I've done what you want to do with a lot of vehicles over the years and it requires getting the stats on the tire you choose.
Use those dimensions and do a lot of measuring remembering that the suspension lets everything move up and down all the while your fronts are turning left and right also.

Right now your probably thinking this ain't going to be easy, and that would be correct.
I do it with a lot of visualizing also, but in the end it sometimes means put it on and try it to see if it works, mostly when you run tolerances to the limit.

Sounds like your after looks over ride quality, been there done that, but it's good to know that with all that wide tire on the front your truck is likely going to want to track down the road following the road.
Ya know the grooves or dished out part of the asphalt, the wide tires want to follow in it. Just something to think about if you don't know it already. Good luck, hope this helps a little.

I have 15x8 with p255/70r15 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 on the rear and 15x7 with p225/75r15 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 on the front.1959 1/2tn. No problems and could propably go a little larger on the rear.

Having had a 56 with 8s all around there is no problem with them. How ever I do not think 10s will work without jacking up the rear to clear the tires.

That said, there is a problem with using Ango Saxon expletives on this site. Shame on the Moderator for not correcting the spelling error in the orginal post. Over on the HAMB their moderators do not seem to notice those miss-spelled words. But here at the Stovebolt we should always use a spell checker when we post to alert us of unseamly words.
