When I bought the truck the gear was missing and I talked to some people to find a new one but they all ask what color is the gear and how many teeth are on it. Unfortunately I cant answer that question, so im stuck in the mud on this one.
By the way I took of the cap that holds the cable, and I took off the L shaped unit from the trans that connects the cable to the trans.
Much appreciation for any help

It has an aluminum cover. You might find the gear at a Dodge dealer or a truck trans. parts dealer. You will probably have to guess at the tooth count first & try it. Match the odometer reading with the mile markers on the freeway to tell how mutch off it is. You can try it with & without the "L shaped unit" which is a ratio adapter that the factory uses to calibrate the speedo. Also if the ratio adapter is oppisite of what you need I have taken the little gears out 7 reversed them. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum
