I have an old chevy with a fading paint job and surface rust here and there.

Does anyone know of a very reliable, reasonable, and reputable body person who can prep and primer my truck?

I live in the Adirondacks of NY (across Lake Champlian from Burlington, VT) and willing to take it somewhere in the Northeast.

You might want to hit the closest Auto Paint store and ask if anyone in your area that works on vintage autos... surely you'll find someone close by.

Reliable and reasonable should be confirmed by asking for 3-5 references.

What do you consider to be reasonable?

Or, would you like advice on people's opinions on what would be reasonable?

What quality of primer/sealer and paint do you want?

Are you referring to exterior only?

Are your looking for a assembled-body-parts paint job?

Just looking for referral for someone people think is reputable and reasonably priced. We are looking for a higher quality primer/sealer .... not ready to paint yet. Just exterior body prep (a few areas need surface rust removed and the old paint is chipping in a few places) and primer/sealer. Would appreciate any recommendations.

If you are not going to to restore or repaint within 5 years, the single-stage polyurethane with sealers might be a good choice.

I see your profile lists you as Petaluma California, too bad you weren't here on the west coast with that truck. If you are coming back from New York and bringing the truck with you I say you should wait. You have the premiere classic painter in your back yard. Altissimo in Napa is about the best there is. Show award winners many time over, does nothing but custom work and restorations. He will not touch a wreck or a new car. Brandon painted my truck and I am VERY happy with the work he did. Just a thought if you are bringing it back across country.

Yeah, we bought it in Sebastopol and took it back east to our farm. Yeah, I have connections out here, but not back east.

What did you pay for the paint job? That might give us an idea for "reasonable".

Check local car clubs and that way you can probably see the work for whoever they say is good or does reasonable/quality work.
