i have a 1966 Chevy C-30. ive rarely seen them around my part of the states, and never have i seen one customed out. i was originally just trying to get it running, and hadnt thought much further than that. after 1 weekend i got that far. a friend of mine convinced me to custom/rat rod it. (i did my car and its one of those things i have a 3rd eye for). i figured out the kit to flip the rear axle, but what about the front? i found drop spindles but only for the C-10's. i figure the back is going to drop about 6 inches (yes i will be doing the c-notch) and im planning to put bigger tires on the back and smaller in front so it only needs to get dropped . . . .4" or so. any one have any suggestions? tryin to keep it as low budget as possible. dont much care if its buying new parts or moding the ones that are already there. (prefer moding whats already there however)

You may have to do a front suspension swap using the mid/late 80's stuff, because they do(or at least use to) make drop spindles for 3/4 & 1 ton trucks. Plus you would get the added safety of disc brakes. If that wouldn't bring it down enough cut one coil off the spring. I would also box the frame in the rear where the C-Notch is at least a foot on each side for strength...joe

A lot of 3/4- and 1-ton part numbers are the same. Figure out what year IFS you can get lowering spindles for and then upgrade to one of those. That way you can replace all that 40-plus year old bushings and stuff at the same time. The kits are only going to be for disk brake years mostly likely.

It's true. I really don't do anything but browse the Internet looking for trouble...
