For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 17 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 17 | Can anyone tell me exactly what trim clips I need to buy to hold the trim on the exterior of my 66 Chevy C10 Pickup? Most of the clips on my truck are getting in bad shape and I am afraid I will lost a piece of trim if I don't rework this pretty soon. I know the repo places have packages of these clips you can buy, but it looks much cheaper to just buy the clips outright...if I knew what to buy:) Thanks! | | | | | Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 | LMC.com has them and so does Brothers.com | | | | | Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 17 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 17 | Yeah, but I hate to pay $30 when all I need is a few clips. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2000 Posts: 800 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2000 Posts: 800 | A 66 needs 2 different sizes of clips. More if there is back of cab trim. I suggest that you remove one of each type and bring them to your local Paint jobber or good FLAPS and match them up. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 17 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 17 | Sounds like a good plan. I mainly only need the clips holding the trim on the bed right now, as the rest of the trim seems pretty solid. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 406 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 406 | Mar-K has the plastic push-in clips for the upper bed molding. They are not identical to the original steel clips, but work well. These clips are not shown in the on-line catalog, but you can order them individually by calling the sales office. We have not found a source for the steel clips that work for this upper molding.
