I'll be in 29 Palms, CA for the next week. I'm looking for some parts for my 47 2 ton, if anyone has any suggestions as to where to find parts please let me know. I need body parts mostly, a whole cab, hood, grill, and some other misc parts. I don't have much internet access out here but if you have anything please let me know I'll be checking up on the site over the next couple days.
Thanks guys
Kevin

If it's old and rusted out.... Well it's probably mine.

Just a guess, but Semper Fi Devil Dog! Enjoy Camp Wilson. I spent seven years out there and all the old iron is out in the desert behind somebody's house. The junk yards out there scrapped what they couldn't hold on a regular basis. There used to be a radio show on Saturday mornings called the Trading Post that I bought and sold a lot of parts on. You probably won't be there that long, but good luck.

My little brother is actually in the USMC, I had to bring his truck from WV to Twentynine Palms, CA along with some of his personal belongings, I am hoping to find the things I need while I'm here in the dry before heading back to the Arctic North I call home, there are still some Stovebolts around home but most suffer the same chronic cancer mine does.... so I figured to make the best of my trip while the opportunity presented itself.

You'll have to do some calling around, but some of those old lots aren't shipping off thier stuff for scrap because they lose too much in fuel charges. It's a matter of sniffing them out, try looking up local car clubs on your travel route.
29 Palms is a bit more East than the places I know of, you may try some of the blaces outside of Barstow, West into the area around Edwards AFB, and North into Ridgecrest and NAS China Lake (there's a few old scrap piles there that make me drool).
Also, on the other side of the Rockies, my dad has been findin all kinds of old bolts in KS north of Topeka. Keeps teasing me with photos tha jerk! grin

I dig all cars, old and new, whether they were hammered out of American iron, German steel, or Japanese tin cans. Being unable to appreciate them all is missing out on a world of great things.
But thats just MY opinion!

Well tell your brother thanks for serving his country the best way possible! I picked up several rust free chevys while I was out there. I bought a car trailer and towed them home when I went on leave. I spent a lot of my off time creeping around the desert in low lock. There are a lot of stovebolts out there just sitting with dry rotted tires. The junk yards are off Utah Trail in Twentynine Palms. There is B&B and one across the road if he's still open. Good luck. Try Yucca Valley also.
