First time on here and was looking for a little advice.Ive got a 55 2nd series with a 350,350 turbo combo,12 bolt rearend.I did all of the work on it in the early 70s and have never had it on the road. Now the time has come to do a few updates.Im looking to install disc brakes with a firewall mount power booster and possibly monoleafs on the front to bring it down a couple inches.Just wondering how these springs work and also if anyone has had any issues with the firewall mount as opposed to frame mount booster.thanks for any advice.

Welcome stepdog.

Wow, you're a patient man, doing your upgrades in the 70's and still not on the road. Hopefully you're getting close to enjoying driving it.

Mono leafs are o.k. and they will give you a 2 to 3" drop. They ride a little stiff but then, so do the original springs, eh? (In my best Canadian accent). Posies make a 2-leaf lowering spring that probably works better, I think Speedway still carries them. As far as the master cyl/booster, a lot of folks run the firewall mounts but in my opinion they just don't look that great. If I ever decide I need power discs I'll go sith a frame mount set-up, but again, that's just my opinion.

Good luck with getting her on the road.

Hi stepdog, welcome from Scotland.

Thankfully, the technology has moved on in the last 30/40 years.
The parts you require are easily available from many vendors.

You're obviously a very patient man!

I've also heard good things about 'Posies' springs and I agree with Waldo.
JMO as well, but I prefer the under floor brake set-up for a cleaner firewall.
Obviously the final decision is yours.
BTW How about some pics?
Good luck.
