Picked up this sweetheart by accident last fall and the 6 kiddos and dad spent their "spare time" this winter working.

Originally a FD truck from S. WI with 7,200 original miles. She had a 500 gallon water tank on her back.
We pulled out the captain seats and installed the original bench and new seat belts. We just put in the new headliner, floor mats and finished the box.

She's our family wood hauler and also will be used in fall ministry delivering wood to Native families on the Leech Lake reservation.

What a fine truck you have to do such good works...

Boozhoo Healingbear,
I'd suggest delivering a few cord of ash or mapleto your family in N. CA with the '58 sweetheart, but I'm afraid I'd have to second mortgage the house just to buy the gas!

Mighty fine truck you've got, and such a wonderful way to put it to work!! These former firetrucks make a great truck-chassis to convert over to other uses. My '57 is a former 500 gal fire pumper-tanker truck with only 4300 miles when I bought it and now has only 6200 miles today. I put a 12 foot dump on it and use it for occasional work.

Again I admire your truck, hope to see more pics of it in the near future!

James

Wooley any time you want to drop off any ash or maple it wont go to wast... That would be a very expensive haul for sure... Been burning some oak, walnut ad some ash that used to be next to my house...

It is always good to see these old work horses do what they were made made for, using them...
