55.2 chevy 235. from what i found there should be 2 oil lines from the filter. one direct to the block and the other into the block at the restrictor fitting for the oil press guage.
my truck has a tee on the top port of the filter with a line run to a port in the head above the distributor. is this extra line factory ,if not what is the reason for this oil line.

sometimes the oil delivery to the rocker arms gets plugged up by sludge and this line is run to get oil to the rocker arms. It won't hurt anything but the original supply line is plugged up. If you feel like fixing it , you may take the side cover off, behind the distributor and you will see a small oil line running from the rear cam bearing to the area in the center under were the line connects. Take the line off and clean it, air pressure works well, but make sure you point it away from you, and blow it out. It is probably all blocked up.

Thanks tommy. The valves are a little loud and I was going to adjust them any way so I will look at the oil line too.my oil pressure is low so i may have some other issues to addresse.
