I'm wondering though if the model number really means much when it comes to your truck. 6100 is a short wheelbase (137 inch) 2-ton with a single rear axle. What you describe is not a stock '54 truck because Chevrolet did not make a tandem axle truck in '54.

It's a grain truck out of IN. take a look at my photobucket blue truck pics.
