When they lifted the truck up, the rear part of the front spring separated from the shackle by about 1 inch. Is this normal? It looks like the leaf has a u-shaped bend that goes around the bottom part of the shackle. The end doesn't look like it's broken. The one on the other side looks about the same, but it didn't separate when it was jacked up.
Looks kind of scary to me.

The second leaf is curved around to keep things from getting away if the main leaf breaks. There are clamps that hold the leaves together. Posibly they are missing. Universal ones are available but it's not a big deal.

Now that I looked at it a little closer, I'm thinking the leaf that is supposed to wrap around the spring shackle bolt is broken off. The one below it has the end that wraps around the bottom of the bolt as a safety measure. And it's a good thing it does  Dropbox Public folder

You can replace the springs with new ones available from most any vendor or your local spring shop. You could also replace them with Posies Dual-Flex springs to soften the ride and lower the truck a couple of inches. You could also replace just the broken main leaf ( available from Classic Parts ) and take the opportunity to clean and repaint the springpacks. It wasn't too difficult, and it worked good for 30-some years. Now the complete springs are getting replaced with new like-originals due to wear.
