66 1/2 ton rear drum brakes. You have a rectangular Bar that goes between the shoes, and it has a rectangular coil spring on the front end of it. Where can I find these springs? Part stores and catalogs don't seem to have any record of them. Thank you for your help.

That's going to be a difficult item to get, we even have a hard time getting them for the late model vehicles. The bar in question is called an Equalizer Bar, and it is part of the system that allows the parking brake to operate.

Napa shows part number 80448 in their United line. They call them parking brake strut springs.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Sorry Johnnyrock, not in this bunch. I believe Longbed55 has the correct one. I tried the local Napa, but unfortunately out here, you have mostly young people working the counter, and if it's not in the computer, you may as well hang it up. I will try that part number and see what I get. Unfortunately, mine are broken on both sides. I have some pieces for shape, but not overall length. Thank's again guy's.

The 80448 springs do not work, too small in diameter and won't fit on the bar. Unfortunately I had to buy them and order them in to find out. What I found that does seem to work, are early Corvette springs, say from 58 - 62. For what it does, I think they should work alright, and can be ordered from any Corvette parts supply house.
