Now I'm at a stand still, Classic Parts did not mention I needed studs to hold the cover down. I assumed they came with it. Do they make a mounting kit? Something more nicer than a threaded bolt with a big washer. Thanks for any assistances. That means you screwed the studs into the head and they are sticking up out of the rocker arm assembly. Did you put them in the center hole of each of the two assemblies? If so, the plain nut must be torqued onto the stud to help hold the rocker assembly in place. Now you should have the studs sticking up. Drop the Offy cover down on the studs and the gasket, then put the rubber gromets on the cover with a washer and install the nut to hold it down. Test run to see if it is sealed. If not, tighten the hold down nuts. That should do it. What's the problem?

Take the valve-cover and mounting-bolt to a good hardware store. They might have a grommet. I put a stainless steel washer (the diameter of the grommet) under the top nut (usually an acorn nut).

The cheesey grommets they sent were actually short sections of a rubber hose that they roughly cut off to length. The inner diameter was the same as the studs and the outer fit somewhat tight in the holes of the valve cover. They gave plain nuts and flat washers.
This came brand new from Offenhouser.

I walked down the nuts-bolts isle in the hardware and poked around until I came up with something that fit in the hole, with a hole in it for the stud AND with a larger top to sit on top of the cover. I put a stainless washer on top of that with the bolt and it works well. Check the electrical grommets and the plumbing gromets. You should find something that will work.
