I have a 56 w/ a 350. I'm getting steam coming up through the dash near the heater. Heater needs to be replaced. I am wondering if I can safely by-pass the heater and connect the hoses for a temporary fix?

sure, done all the time, just take one hose off the engine and loop the other back
