I,m putting a stick behind my 56 Chevy 235 engine and I have a chance to buy a Truck one with the flywheel, clutch, etc. but I want to be sure it will fit. And will the rear side mounts be the same as a car? Help??? Thanks

The flywheel and the clutch are the same for the car and truck but the truck bellhousing mounts on pads on the crossmember. The car has frame horns and the mounts are on the sides of the bellhousing. Fred

I'm not sure as the mounts are different and in different locations. Some of the suppliers like Danchuk and CCI have a special trans side mount that attaches to the frame horns but it is primarily for late automatics when using the original front mounts and the tail shaft mount. It is for extra support. You might take a look at it. You could possibly take out the frame horns and install a crossmember. However, it would be a lot of fabrication to do for a stock application.
