Can anyone help with the specs for a 1954 235 engine. I don't have the info to indicate normal cylinder compression pressure. Thanks for any help on this

blanch53 This is out of my old Motor Manual Book ... It is the Tune Up Specifications...

blanch53,

Another source is the 1954 Chevrolet Shop Manual. It says that the compression test should show 130 psig, +/- 10. This great link, thanks to Keith Hardy, has lots of valuable information.

Also important, besides the max PSI, is the continuity between cylinders.

I appreciate the response and the links to the online manuals, that will be a great resource for me. Once again this site gets the thumbs up for the help shared by fellow stovebolters.

I have one with 65 - 68 lbs across the 6. Starts good, runs smooth but no power. will rebuild.
